The path of one pour

Four steps between the tag and the glass.

This is the path the system actually takes, in the order it happens.

  1. 01

    The tag identifies

    The reader on the tap recognises the card, keyfob or wristband and asks the local server who the customer is and how much they have.

  2. 02

    The tap decides

    With balance, the valve opens and the session starts. Without it, the tap never turns on, and the manager gets the alert right away.

  3. 03

    The meter counts

    The flow meter counts pulses and the product's calibration factor turns pulses into millilitres. You charge for volume, not for a glass.

  4. 04

    The tab closes

    On release the session closes and the amount leaves the balance. The line lands in the statement: product, volume, amount, tap and time.

Tags

One tag. Three formats.

The format changes with the crowd. The balance and the tap stay the same.

Card

Handed out fast at the door, carries the bar's brand printed on it and fits the wallet of whoever sits at a table.

Keyfob

Stays with the regulars. The member tops it up at the counter and carries the balance into next weekend.

Wristband

Survives a three-day event, the queue and the rain. It doesn't fall out of a pocket between rounds.

Lost a tag? Deactivate it in the panel and the tap turns it down on the next read.

Prepaid balance
Credit at the counter, debit at the tap. Nobody leaves owing and nobody pours what they haven't paid for.
Price per millilitre
Each product has its own price and calibration factor. Changing the keg means changing the tap's product.
Statement per tag
Every session becomes a line: product, volume, amount, tap and time.
Registered taps
Each tap joins the system with an activation code and an expiry date. An expired tap won't open.
No internet, no stop
The server stays on site. When the network comes back, it syncs to the cloud on its own.
Administrator PIN
Adding credit, creating users and touching a tap all ask for the PIN of someone allowed to.
